Hoover LINX Cordless
I Bought Hoover LINX Cordless to use on new hardwood and laminate floors on the uppper level of our home instead of dragging the old Electrolux out and plugging in, moving to the next room, plugging in, and so on. Hoover LINX Cordless little thing works much better than expected. It's powerful, it's light, it's very manueverable and it gets under the bed with ease. All with no cords. The battery has been lasting for three to four cleanings of the entire upper floor, 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen without going dead. The LED indicator gets down to 1 bar and it's time to recharge. I bought an extra battery for this but I'm beginning to think that was a waste of money as we have yet to run out in the middle of vacuuming. Even for those one off quickie jobs to pick up a mess from crumbs or bird seed, feathers or whatever.
It's pricey but Amazon had it lower than anyone else so if you're looking for a deal look no further.

Hoover Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum Amazon.com Product Description
Equipped with Hoover's patented WindTunnel technology, this cordless and bagless stick vacuum cleaner uses the power of rotating brushes and three suction tunnels to lift and trap dirt. The unit's motorized power brush picks up even deep-down dirt in the thickest plush carpeting, while its one-touch brushroll switch on the handle of the cleaner turns off the brushroll, making it easy to transition from carpets to bare-floor surfaces. Move effortlessly throughout the house thanks to the cleaner's cordless design--no more having to stop to re-plug the power cord when moving from room to room. The machine runs on an interchangeable 18-volt Lithium Ion battery, which ensures maximum "fade-free" power right up until the battery becomes completely drained. Its battery-fuel gauge clearly indicates the amount of battery life remaining, while the included Energy Star battery charger quickly and efficiently powers it back up to a full charge. Other details include an 11-inch-wide nozzle with a wide-mouth opening, automatic height adjustment, edge cleaning bristles for closer access along baseboards and corners, soft non-marring rear wheels, and a low-profile base and reclining handle for access under furniture, as well as a comfort-grip handle and the ability to stand upright on its own without needing to lean up against a wall. Lightweight at just over 7-1/4 pounds, the cordless stick vac measures approximately 11 by 8 by 42 inches and carries a six-year limited warranty on the vacuum and a two-year limited warranty on the battery and charger.
Hoover Linx Review
Stick vacuums fill a niche for many homeowners. They are often battery operated (but not always), fairly lightweight and useful for small cleanup jobs. A full size canister or upright can be overkill if you spilled some Cheerios on the floor and some handhelds may not have the power for the task. However a good stick vacuum that is conveniently located in the corner of the room or inside the closet can be readily retrieved to quickly deal with the mess at hand.
Given that these vacuum cleaners fill a necessary or at least helpful niche in the world of vacuuming, which ones are the best to buy? At Vacuum Cleaner Advisor we have spent years reviewing and rating all sorts of vacuum cleaners including stick vacs. Recently we published our top three pick for a stick vac. The race ultimately came down to the Hoover Linx, the Electrolux Ergorapido and the Miele S163.
The Hoover Linx is an effective stick vac on both bare floors and carpets. It is also not too heavy weighing in at 7.3 lbs and it comes with a very lengthy 6-year warranty. It is a bagless and cordless vacuum that runs on an 18-volt Lithium Ion battery, and the cost is usually under 175USD. Battery life for the Linx is between 15 and 20 minutes. All-in-all the features are good and it does everything well. Consumers give it great ratings and cite that it is powerful, light and quiet.
Strong competition for the Linx, the Electrolux Ergorapido is a lighter and cheaper stick vac option. The Ergorapido only weighs 5.5 lbs - a full 1.8lbs lighter than the Hoover Linx. However the warranty on the Ergorapido is only 2-years and while it is very good on bare floors consumers indicate that it only does an average job on carpet. It also takes quite a while to get a full recharge - sometimes up to 16 hours. By comparison the Linx can be fully recharged in about 3 hours. The Ergorapido sells for about 100USD. Consumers also give this stick vac very good ratings.
Using an entirely different approach, Miele have created a bagged and corded stick vacuum. Both the Ergorapido and the Linx are bagless and battery operated. The Miele S163 like most Miele vacuums is a consumer favorite. Reviews and ratings are stellar but not plentiful. Miele also provide a 7-year warranty on the motor and 1-year on parts and labor. The corded approach can be viewed as an advantage or a disadvantage. A corded vacuum will not lose power like a battery-operated vacuum and it does not require recharging. However it does need to be near an outlet and thus cannot be as conveniently moved around.
Everything on the Miele S163 stick vacuum works well but it has two downsides when compared with the Electrolux Ergorapido and the Hoover Linx - it is quite a bit more expensive and it is also heavier. The S163 weighs 9.3 lbs which is starting to tip the scales for a stick vac, and it usually costs close to 300USD.
The above three stick vacs are all good, however the Hoover Linx stands out in terms of bang for your buck. It simply does everything well, and while not cheap it really isn’t a bank breaker. It also comes with a long 6-year warranty. For the money, this is your best bet in terms of a stick vacuum.
